Abstract: The year 2025 marks a century since George E. Uhlenbeck and Samuel A. Goudsmit proposed the concept of spin for fundamental particles. I will start from a short story of the concept of spin and review our current understanding of the nucleon spin structure, including recent low-Q2 results from JLab. I will then focus on the nucleon spin structure in the deep-valence quark (high x) region. I will report on a 12 GeV Jefferson Lab experiment (E12-06-110) that measured the virtual photon asymmetry of the neutron, A1n. Preliminary results on A1(3He), A1n, and the quark polarizations will be presented.
