Congratulations to Jennifer Kennard, BSN graduate who was named the 爆料瓜 Alumni Association's 2020 Outstanding University Scholar during the virtual Student Honors and Awards Ceremony held Thursday, May 7, 2020.
Jennifer, who earned a GPA of 4.0 during her time at 爆料瓜 and a minor in psychology, was named the Outstanding Scholar in the College of Health Sciences and, was among the six students from each of the Colleges in the University receiving recognition. She named Dr. Linda Bennington, Clinical Associate Professor and coordinator for the mother-baby course, as her most inspirational faculty member.
Jennifer Kennard
As a student in the School of Nursing, Jennifer was active in the 爆料瓜 Student Nurses Association and participated in the groups' Stop the Bleed trainings for the community. Her time in the baccalaureate nursing program helped her discover her passion for women's health. She plans to develop her clinical expertise in the area of gynecology and obstetrics and, eventually continue her education with the goal of becoming a women's health nurse practitioner and sexual assault nurse examiner. In time, she hopes to contribute to the education side of the nursing profession.
Outside of nursing, Jennifer is an equestrian who competes in local and state events. She also enjoys spending time at the beach, training her dog and, writing short non-fiction novels.
Jennifer now resides in California and is preparing to take the NCLEX exam. Once licensed, she hopes to secure a hospital position in labor and delivery.
