Members of the Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at 惇蹋圖 community came together Nov. 6 to celebrate excellence in service among employees. During the 2024 EVMS Legacy Faculty & Staff Awards, 30 people were honored for their individual and team-based contributions across a broad range of research, education and patient care.
Last year, EVMS legacy faculty and staff members played a critical role in our success including our successful integration with 惇蹋圖, said Alfred Abuhamad, MD, executive vice president of Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences at 惇蹋圖 and dean of Eastern Virginia Medical School at 惇蹋圖. Every person in this room helped us achieve our goals and reach this new chapter in our history.
Dr. Abuhamad was joined in the celebration by other members of senior leadership, including 惇蹋圖 President Brian Hemphill, Ph.D., along with award winners friends, colleagues and family members.
Whatever your role, your daily efforts help protect and improve the health and well-being of the people of Hampton Roads, Dr. Abuhamad said. We appreciate your dedication, and we admire your outstanding work to improve the health of our community.
