Paying for Your EVMS Program

Programs under Macon & Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences EVMS School of Health Professions have different tuition rates than the rest of ±¬ÁϹÏ. As a result, out-of-state tuition and certain mandatory fees for these programs and courses may differ from standard ±¬ÁϹÏGlobal rates.

Detailed costs and associated fees for Virginia Health Sciences programs are listed below. 

Tuition and program fees are calculated per credit hour. The rates below are effective beginning Fall 2026 through Summer 2027 and are subject to change. Additional fees may apply to specific programs or courses.

Mandatory Fees


Mandatory Fee Description
Auxiliary Tuition: $162 per credit hour This fee applies to all students in EVMS School of Health Professions programs. In the past, this fee was assessed as part of a combined tuition rate. It is now assessed separately on the student bill as Auxiliary Tuition. It supports auxiliaries such as the student union, recreational sports, student facilities, student activities, and intercollegiate athletics.
Course Technology Fee: $30 per credit hour Applies to all students taking technology delivered (online) courses to cover the costs of providing these courses.
Innovation Fee: $8 per credit hour Supports strategic investments in campus technology, including enhancements to digital tools, classroom technologies, and student support systems.
General Services Fee: $18 per semester General services for items such as graduation, course drops, reinstatement, matriculation and course catalog. Note: This fee is prorated for accelerated 8-week terms.
ID Card Fee: $4 per semester Covers the Card Center services, equipment, and operating costs. Online students may request and receive a student ID card. Note: This fee is prorated for accelerated 8-week terms.
Program-Specific Fees: Varies Some graduate degree programs assess additional fees per credit hour or by semester, such as the MBA, graduate engineering, Master of Science in Nursing, and EVMS School of Health Professions degrees and certificates.
Course-Specific Fees: Varies The cost of textbooks, course materials and/or lab fees varies by course.
