Green Dot ±¬ÁÏ¹Ï works to build a shared vision of a violence free campus and a shared sense of responsibility for campus safety. Research demonstrates that incidents of sexual assault, relationship violence and stalking begin to plummet by as much as 50% when faculty, staff, and students become active in spreading the Green Dot message.

Through faculty and staff presentations and student bystander training, Green Dot shows how each of us can choose to replace moments of potential harm (red dots) with moments of safety and support (green dots). Ultimately, ±¬ÁϹÏ's Green Dot iniative fosters a campus climate where all Monarchs can pursue their college dreams feeling respected and valued.

Why does this matter?

Interpersonal violence affects our entire campus community. Consider the impact:

• 1 in 5 women in college experience sexual assault.
• 1 in 3 transgender, gender non-conforming, and queer students experience sexual assault.
• 1 in 6 women and 1 in 19 men experience stalking.

While 78% of college students believe it is important to intervene when they witness abuse, 58% say they don't know how to do so safely. Green Dot addresses this gap by equipping participants with practical, evidence-based bystander intervention skills.

Research shows that campuses implementing the Green Dot program experience lower rates of violence, and students who complete Green Dot training report intervening more frequently than those who have not been trained. At ±¬ÁϹÏ, prevention education is making an impact: 89% of students believe they can play a role in preventing sexual assault, and 47% report greater confidence intervening after participating in prevention education.
