Classroom Technology

Forward-Focused Classroom Tech

As of Fall 2025, we have updated and modernized eighteen classrooms across both the main campus and the medical campus, and are currently upgrading classroom displays with larger screens and higher resolution.

We are currently formalizing plans for the next phase of classroom upgrades for the remaining 175 classrooms across both campuses from Spring 2026 through Fall 2027.

Monarch Board

Our flagship Forward-Focused classroom (Chemistry 1002) features an endless interactive digital surface we've named the Monarch Board, which allows instructors to share content with students and annotate while facing the class. Notes get saved back to the course in Canvas for future reference.

Tracking cameras

AI-enabled classroom cameras track instructors so they are always in view.

Live transcription

Classes are transcribed in real time. AI tech picks up on key concepts as the instructor teaches, allowing students to provide anonymous and immediate feedback if they don't quite understand a topic.

Dedicated network connections

Dedicated fiber connectivity in each classroom handles the bandwidth demands of newer technology.

Upgraded equipment

Document cameras and lecture capture microphone systems offer higher definition.

Zoom Immersion Classroom

Our Zoom Immersion Classroom allows faculty to teach live synchronous classes over Zoom. Students appear on large video displays while faculty can interact with course material on convenient screens around the studio. The first course was delivered from the space during the Fall 2025 semester. Based on feedback from faculty who have used the room, we are continually enhancing the user experience, and we've recently added real-time lecture transcription that now provides live student interaction.

Tracking cameras

Cameras follow the instructor for consistent eye contact with virtual class attendees.

In-room technician

Our technicians control all production aspects of the class so faculty can focus on teaching.
