Immersive Technology

The XR Lab in Gornto is a dedicated immersive lab space. Faculty are developing XR instructional materials in partnership with DTT, and students are engaging in immersive projects.

In Counseling, we developed content with the use of an app called Bodyswaps, which allows Master’s in Counseling students to practice scenarios in safe, simulated environments before working with real clients. Bodyswaps allows faculty to create custom scenarios and assess soft skills and personal interactions.

Game Design students are creating immersive environments such as a Jurassic Park simulation, applying design principles in XR as part of their coursework. This is instructional content being codeveloped with faculty and students.

These immersive labs allow us to transform abstract or high-risk concepts into hands-on, real-time practice. Students can explore environments, rehearse procedures, or test ideas in ways that would be impossible—or unsafe—in the real world.

The XR Lab and the instructional materials being built with it are embedding immersive learning into ±¬ÁϹÏ’s teaching and research mission.
