Many astrophysics students are inspired by the mysteries of the cosmos and seek to understand the origin, structure, and evolution of the universe. Our program blends observational astronomy, theoretical modeling, and data-driven investigation to provide a strong foundation in the study of celestial phenomena. Through rigorous coursework and research opportunities, students develop the expertise needed for graduate study and a wide range of careers that rely on quantitative reasoning, computation, and scientific inquiry.

Graduate

The Ph.D. program educates students to become scholars and researchers of physics. Our graduates are trained to teach and to carry out original research that is theoretical, experimental, or both. Our program prepares scientists for careers in academic, industrial, and government settings.

The Master's program in physics provides an education within experimental and theoretical physics and aims at giving the candidates a broad professional background in physics. The candidate can focus the program towards a variety of topics based on ongoing research activities at the Physics Department.
